Synopsis

Product Description
W.C. Handy Award winners Paul Rishell & Annie Raines have released their first live CD, A Night In Woodstock. The disc features special guests John Sebastian, Bruce Katz, and others joining the duo for an eclectic, high-energy set of acoustic and electric originals and fan-favorite blues songs. The show, which was filmed for use in the jug band documentary, Chasin' Gus' Ghost, will be released as a concert DVD in 2009. In 15 years as a working team, Paul and Annie have toured extensively in the U.S. and Europe, released four albums together, and recorded with Susan Tedeschi, Rory Block, and John Sebastian. Their 1999 album, Moving to the Country, won the W.C. Handy Award for Acoustic Blues Album of the Year. They will be touring North America in 2008 & 2009 to promote A Night In Woodstock in conjunction with print, radio, and retail marketing campaigns.

Connecting my Soul to the Past
ThroughTheLookingGlass | 02/08/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"A great live club recording from 2005. The production is spot on, vocals, guitar, and harmonica all given room to soar. Sound quality is A+ with all the detail retained, turn it up and it's like your right there.

I've been waiting for a new album, but this live recording more than holds me over, Annie's harmonica always touches me, while together it's like they connect me with the greats I was never able to see. Paul has a voice and rhythm that pulls emotions from all your toes while laying flat out the honesty of these songs. Annie drops grabbing vocals as well on a couple tracks while the music tide washes from acoustic to electric."

"While traveling for a week I kept hearing one song off of this CD. I liked the song so much that when I got home I ordered the CD from Amazon.com. It is a great bluesy album and all the songs are great."
