CD Reviews

Dj spooky as himself!
(5 out of 5 stars)

"this cd is hard to find and i was so happy when i found it at amazon. this is ambeint and dj spooky at their best. this was the cd that turned me on to ambient. it's wonderful. you can hardly tell when one song becomes another, they flow that well. some are eerie, some are soothing and all are simple beautiful. a must have for any ambient lover."
Not accessible and a bit smug... but a good CD nonetheless..

"First, I think that this is experimental music at it's finest in that it changes how you think during the time that you listen to it. The noises move your soul: Paul D. Miller (DJ Spooky) is a great artist and an interesting, at least, human being when it comes to philosophy. Perhaps the philosophy lesson is required to listen to the music BUT I found the liner notes on this disc to be a little bit much (eh, though, if you're going to release a disc that maybe five people own what the heck, right?!?) though not as much as his lectures on 'Riddim Warfare' (which do bring philosophy to the people. It is nice, though, that hip-hop and electronica (illbent... ha!) have a little psuedo-intellectual of their very own..... (seeing that I'm not certain that our generation is capable of having real ones....)It's a great disc and kinda trippy stuff to listen to. If you're a fan of.... hmm.... I'd be more inclined to say a fan of dark ambeint or classical art-music experiementation, this is a great disk, if you can find it...."
