Paris Keeling is a combined writing effort of Kelly Keeling and Marty Paris. Kelly Keeling, co-founder of Paris Keeling and the band's lead vocalist, commenced his career in music over 25 years ago at the age of 14. In 1990, he joined the rock band Baton Rouge as a vocalist and guitar player, and shortly thereafter the band was signed by Atlantic Records. Their album Shake Your Soul was released followed by Lights Out on the Playground a year later. That same year, Keeling was involved with his first platinum album, Alice Cooper s Hey Stoopid, co-writing the song (Snakebite) In addition to Alice Cooper, Keeling has recorded, performed and/or toured with such distinguished musicians as Roger Daltrey, Don Dokken, George Lynch, Yngwie Malmsteen, Carmine Appice, Vinny Appice, Tony Franklin, Denny Laine, John Norum, Erik Norlander, Stuart Smith, and Michael Schenker. In 2005, Keeling released his first solo album Giving Sight to the Eye. He contributed to the Michael Schenker Group s 25th anniversary CD Tales Of Rock & Roll and performed as lead vocalist on the debut Screamin' Lords CD Long Live Me. Keeling also toured with Trans-Siberian Orchestra in 2006 and 2007 as a lead vocalist. Marty Paris, co-founder of Paris Keeling and featured guitarist, is best known for creating the Skulls Project - a collaboration of independent musicians in Hoboken, New Jersey. Their last project First Rites, was released in 2005 and several of the tracks on Paris Keeling's End of Ride Revisited including (Color Blind ) and (Tears of Heaven) have their roots in that project. He also was a member of the band Pamlico Sounds dating back to the 80 s. Not only was Paris instrumental in creating Paris Keeling and in his roles as Executive Producer and writer/co-writer of 8 tracks, but much of End of Ride Revisited comes from his vision. This CD has many well known guest musicians as well (Don Dokken). Keelings voice is in top form and Paris' guitar skills are phenomenal. As the title may hint, this CD is as good as it gets for excellent driving music. The many changes in tempo keep the listener engaged and will harken back to other notable songs from years gone by without sounding dated. The lyrics are intelligent and discerning and not at all cliche. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this CD and it grows on me more and more with each play! Serge Entertainment has done an exemplary job of promoting this CD and getting the "word" out. The PK version of the classic ELO tune, "Telephone Line" is instantly recognizable and done with honesty and integrity. Jeff Lynne should be proud of this power duo's remake. For anyone that is a fan of rock music, new or old, get this CD! I will be compiling a more descriptive feedback with a song by song critique. In short, this CD is worth it's weight and worthy of buying for any fan of music. The title may say "End of Ride", but it's only to be bording another great ride! Waterbury | Atlanta | 11/19/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "This re-issued recording project featuring North Carolina songwriter/guitarist Marty Paris and one of rock's top vocalists Kelly Keeling takes the original recording to a higher plane. The addition of five bonus tracks along with remastering and some subtle instrumentation embellishments of the original songs makes this CD a must for any fan of either Paris or Keeling, as well as people who appreciate songwriting talents funneled into various aspects of rock and roll. The gritty retro rocker "Tears Of Heaven" launches the disc with dramatic power. "Life" has an inspiring quality to it, with acoustic driven melodies and harmonic vocals building to an intense, uplifting climax. The addition of delectable string arrangements enhance the touching ballads "Feel" and "Free". Keeling's emotive vocal prowess shines on the minimalistic piano fueled "Morning Song". The bonus track "Alive" affords Paris the opportunity to display his talent, which he does to wonderful affect on this alt folk rocker with a heartland feel. The listener is treated to both a live and studio version of the edgy, Beatles influenced rocker "Head Straight." Like "Head Straight," the full throttle sonic guitar fueled "Don't Disturb the Occupants" features the indelible drumming of the legendary Carmine Appice. Other notable guest appearances include the wicked guitar licks of George Lynch on the modern blues tinged rocker "These Days," and his former bandmate Don Dokken produces Lennon/McCartney style vocal harmonies with Keeling on the subtly intense "I've Found". The band also pays homage to one of their inspirations - ELO - with a luscious cover version of the classic "Telephone Line". A near perfect balance of retro and modern styles fueling foot-stomping rockers and reflective ballads with lyrics straight from the heart and soul of two talented musicians who really know how to tell stories with their music. "End of Ride Revisited" will rate high on your listenability and musical enjoyment scales. And for those of you into visual aesthetics, the new artwork is spectacular as well."
