"Other than in the New York City area, the Paragons are a

relatively unknown group, having earned much less recognition and

appreciation than they deserved. The group originated in their

Brooklyn, NY, high school in 1956 and produced a great doo wop sound,

very much like the Jesters. The Paragons and the Jesters appeared on

stage together many times in an ongoing "battle of the groups." The

Paragons charted only one title, "If" (in 1961, though it peaked only at

position # 82 on Billboard's Top Pop 100 charts), which was a cover

version of the song that was charted by eight other recording artists /

groups in 1951.

There are 28 tracks on this CD, all of them the original recordings

done in the late 50's and early 60's, and the quality of these

recordings is excellent.

My personal favorite songs by the Paragons are "Hey Little Schoolgirl"

and "Florence" --- though many others are great, too! Their titles

"Let's Start All Over Again", "Two Hearts Are Better Than One" and

"Twilight" should be readily recognized by oldies / doo wop buffs.

I highly recommend this CD to doo wop music lovers and to collectors

who are looking for rare or hard-to-find recordings from that era.

I know you will enjoy hearing this great doo wop music as much as I do.
