CD ReviewsClassic Orthodox Chants Tudor Dascalu | CA, USA | 08/24/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "A subtle recording, documenting some of the chanting styles used at the Kyrillo-Belozersk monastery. Technically speaking, the chants are performed flawlessly. However, at times I found myself yearning for more warmth - a warmth you might better find with a small ensemble of monks in their monastery, rather than an institute. Overall, this CD is very good, with the focus being track 10 "The Cherubic Hymn." This is a very well-known, ancient hymn (written circa. 300 AD, possibly earlier), and is chanted using a classic melody."
