Hushed and Reverent Performances

"Schuricht conducts here with a wonderful quality of peace difficult to describe and probably impossible to emulate. If you prefer your Wagner excerpts in the form of rent-brakers then you'll have to look elsewhere. Nowhere is there a hint of bombast or bluster; instead the Parsifal music truly comes across as saintly. These are beautifully restored archival treasures, and fully justify the trouble to reissue them.

Hanssler continues to impress me with excellent, sometimes superb reissues.
