The pieces are just "off" enough--unpredictable and wry in their melodic lines--to be continually provocative and amusing. Bobby combines wit, intelligence, and an avant-garde flavor to his writing and his soloing, and the other members of his group are play with the same driving intensity. I highly recommend this CD, and if you can find some of Bobby's previous CDs, I can recommend those too."
