Oh My Gosh... These Guys Rock Like None Other!
OST SuperFan #1 | Boulder, CO | 10/23/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Hello Everyone In Cyberland! This is it... right here y'all! You'll be hearing these guys all across the nation very soon. Word in Denver has it they're possibly headed for the East Coast in early 2002! I got turned onto the band, "ON SECOND THOUGHT," back in 1998 when I attended Colorado State University. Ever since then, I've been completely hooked! I hate to be cliche but their music really is difficult to pigeon hole into a genre. They skip around all kinds of genres as do many other talented bands these days that realize it's important not to bore the f* out of your audience! Many call it "danceable ROCK" or "danceable grooves." More specifically, it's an amazing mix of ROCK, HIP-HOP, FUNK, LATIN, REGGAE, POP, SWING, PUNK, JAZZ... and one song called "Buck" even has a METAL influence to it. Funky, edgy, danceable ROCK... a song for every mood... they've got it all. They do some really cool tributes to some of their favorite artists in some bridges/intros to some of their songs too (especially De La Soul's "Love You Betta," which is actually a cover of "Peg" (by Steely Dan)... they do it at the end of a song called "Smoke"). Their studio work is astonishing but the LIVE show is even more incredible. They currently are what many describe as Denver's #1 band. They're definitely on the up and up. I'm glad I get to see all of these live shows in Denver/Boulder now while the tickets are still cheap!Anyways... that's my 2 cents... they just came out with a new album in July of 2001 entitled, "Available In Fine Stores Everywhere!" I know their website has free clips of their songs as well as some free, rare, live .mp3s along with their "MP3 of the month!" I suggest checking out the clips from the new AIFSE album because it shows their maturity and how their tunes have progressed since 1996... simply amazing! Also, their bassist (I think) writes their weekly emails and the song bios that are on their website... HILARIOUS!!! Sign up on their email list... it makes my week every time I get their band email. The bassist is far-out... I can't even fathom where some of the thoughts that spill out of his head come from!I believe their website is aptly named, www.OnSecondThought.com!Enjoy... I know I do!"
