Yoshimi Power!

"If you're a fan of the Boredoms, you'll know what OOIOO is about. OOIOO is much more electronic than Boredoms, but it is still very noisy. Though this may not be as competent as the Boredoms best work, it is very much worth a listen to fans.OOIOO is the side project by drummer Yoshimi, along with three other Japanese women. Yoshimi, now on guitar, does the lead vocals, and talk about ballistic. Just listen to "Right Hand Ponk" and you'll understand. Not recommended for those who know little about the whole noise/experimental genre, but for those who like the Boredoms, or Sonic Youth will have a good time listening to this one."

"this is a great band. what made me want to hear them was the fact that it was Yoshimi's band.. and i'm a fan of Boredoms.
but, the music that OOIOO creates stands well apart from what Boredoms have done. It sort of fits in with the new direction Boredoms are taking, and the new incarnation called something like Vooredoms... which is to say, it is very percussive, with heavy use of electronics and effects.OOIOO has a lot of different styles in their songs, but they sound unlike any other band i've heard before.
if you're a fan of Boredoms, or if you like different and interesting music, or if you just like good tunes, there's something here for you."
