CD Reviews

Very good CD
K. Vybihal | Vernon, NJ | 08/31/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I am a really big fan of the emo/screamo/punk scene and this band is probably the best at the softer side of emo music. This cd has a few really great tracks on it including:

1) Come on

3) Can't Forget

5) Don't Say Anything

In my opinion these are the best tracks on the album. But the other 7 tracks are awesome as well, very catchy melodies and touching lyrics. If you are a fan of this genre or just getting into it, this is a great cd to buy. Number One Fan is just as great live!"
I'm an elitest... so I have to have my say :P

(4 out of 5 stars)

"I give this album four out of five stars not because it didn't meet my expectations or not because I didn't think it was crafted with painstaking forthought and borderline genius production, but because I am saving the last star for what is to come. Any band this good, this young, and this early into their career is one to keep an eye on.

The album tells a story. It starts off with the butterflies of new love, moves through the relationship to the sorrow and heartache of losing someone, and on to the hope for the things to come. The transitions are smooth and the whole album feels like a long song with some excellent punctuation.

I have to highly disagree with whoever compared them to Sugarcult... that's almost an insult to this band's intellect and character... personal opinions aside this album is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. This could be their clarity... but I hope I'm wrong and the best is yet to come.

Expect to hear influences in bands like: Jimmy Eat World, Mineral, Christie Front Drive, Counting Crows and more.

In conclusion, I would like to that NOF for making a clear and decisive statement to the current "emo" scene out there.

Jim Adkin's(J.E.W.) said it best with a line in "No Sensitivity":

"You don't have to scream to say something that you honestly mean."

Way to show them how to rock boys.

Favorite Song: "The Prettiest Sin""

"(not a kid-- didn't feel like making an acount)

Number One Fan is absolutely amazing! The lead singer's voice is unique and memorable. The lyrics and melodies are stunning. Although all the songs are awesome, be sure to check out the tracks, "sorry" and "can't forget"

*"can't forget"- i think is the best on the cd. The first time i heard it i got chills and goose bumps. it's beautiful."
