CD Reviews

Yet another great album
J. Lieberman | 01/04/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"To be blunt; this album rocked, though I won't go on about how it's the best since (ALL their albums are amazing) yadda yadda. They take this album down to the basics, after their last album which seems to be a more aggressive attempt, this album hits you with its simplicity. Rob Wright shows once again that he is -still- an amazing lyricist and one of the best bass line writers out there...despite being one of the most frighteningly talented bass players. How a band manages to come out with fresh, inventive album after fresh, inventive album as long as NoMeansNo has almost boggles my mind. There's not much else to say beyond; Yet another creative, intense and emotionally charged album from one of the best bands out there."
Buy The Vinyl!!!

"It has two bonus tracks which the could not put on the CD. It is two records with a bigger insert with more pictures and all that. As far as album quality goes... It is just unbelievable. After enough exposure to NMN you begin to look at your other records and think, "Hmm... Do I really need all these?"The Rape, Dance of, Disapear and This Story Must Be Told are amazing songs that will haunt you with their beauty and mania. The two bonus vinyl only tracks, Youth and Life Like really do round out the record, all though people looking for Wrong style fury and energy will be underimpressed. I like 'em."
Starts out stronger than it finishes

"I quite enjoy this cd, but I find that the the first 4 tracks are the best, along with "going nowhere". THe others are good, but just not as strong in my opinion. The title track is just plain scary, and I think that is exactly what they intended, so it is successful, but I must say I have skipped it on occasion when listening to the cd.NoMeansNo are an amazing band with some amazing records and songs, and if you ever get a chance to see them live, DO IT! you will not be dissapointed. I do like the Dance of the Headless Bourgeoisie, I just don't think it is perfect."
