The real music of Ireland - not just "Celtic Cash-In"

"There is a lot of "Celtic music" available nowadays. While a good percentage is genuine quality material from traditional musicians, popularity has inspired a rash of so-called Celtic offerings that are nothing more than re-worked elevator music with a few traditional instruments thrown in for "authenticity". Fortunately, "Ireland - The Music" is firmly in the first category. It is an excellent album of traditional Irish airs, jigs, reels and hornpipes with a scattering of delightful new compositions from Denis Carey. I bought the CD while on vacation in Ireland last year and have been playing it ever since. This is a fine addition to any genuine "Celtic collection"."
