Synopsis

Album Description
Just as one individual looks to another for identity & support, so one song looks to the last for meaning; a place in the grand structure. This does what many before have done. She is a folk musician in the singer-songwriter tradition. She pays homage here, stretches boundaries there, & most often plays w/in the structures formed by the greats that preceded her. Very few have what it takes to make it on a stage where what separates the weak from the strong is neither record sales nor charisma, but the greatness of the songs. Language Of Stone. 2008.

CD Reviews

Maybe THE record of the year of 2008

I recently bought this record, as I follow almost every project Greg Weeks from Espers is involved in, and after I read Noa has beautiful songs and a unique voice. I though she's just a nice female singer/songwriter with nice voice, as people tend to blow over proportion almost everything ('amazing' and 'masterpieces' are overused by many).

I take it all back. This record is SO beautiful, sad, thrilling, emotional and unique, shimmering and enchanting that it can actually bring one to tears. Noa is Israeli but from what I understood, lives in Philadelphia these days. Her songs has fabulous and touching melodies and beautiful strings arrangements. And on the written word part - she blew me away. Delicate little stories about love, sadness, fears - all can be read as poetry, and very surprising when its coming from someone who's mother's tongue is Hebrew.

The packaging is also beautifully hand drew, with nice carton digipack and a booklet. It's a really amazing album, and it's definitely one of the most unique records I've heard in recent years. GET IT!!
