Ex-girlfriend once again shows No Doubt's ability to switch back and forth from slow motion to fast in the same track, and it also features the amazing drums that I love. Sure the lyrics were written for the girls and they can enjoy both those and rhythm, but just the rhythm is enough for me. No Doubt is known for being a ska rock band, but I feel they have really developed their musical skills since Tragic Kingdom, having now mixed new music techincs found in Ex-girlfriend (and also in New, from the Go Soundtrack), with their original sound."
