CD Reviews

This is INCREDIBLE!

"I'm a fairly new fan of Nightwish. Aside from this I only own the European version of 'Oceanborn', which has quickly become one of the 10 most cherished albums in my large collection of 600+ CDs. I've been wanting to delve further into their catologue of music for quite some time now but I always feared nothing would live up to my rather high expectations. This, however, has proven me wrong! "Nemo" is the first single for their upcoming album, 'Once', and while it's a teaser that makes you want to hear more, it's full of promising material. Tarja's voice is as gorgeous as ever and the music here is simply amazing! "Planet Hell" starts out with dramatic choral singing that eventually leads into some heavy progressive rock beats with both male and female vocals. The real highlight for me, though, would have to be the exclusive "White Night Fantasy", which is essential for Nightwish fans who particularly love their passionate ballads. It's a beautiful song with sweet, soaring vocals and it's a non-album track so fans must get this, if only for that! Also, I noticed there to be a lot more orchestration than usual here which adds a really nice touch to the melodies. There's even an orchestral version of "Nemo" that substitutes the pounding guitars and drums for lush strings instead. I especially appreciate how the lyrics for "Nemo" and "Planet Hell" are included for that's a rare thing to find in singles.

If this was meant to entice listeners to check out their new album than it has been a success! I'm dying to hear 'Once' now..."
DONT READ BAD REVIEWS!!!!

"- Dont Read Bad Reviews!!! Those guys are NOT FANS!!!! Nemo! , its the first brand new single from NIGHTWISH , In this Single CD you get, Nemo - Radio Edit Version if Im not mistaken, Planet Hell - A song from the album, a duet between Tarja and Marcos ( kinda like Century Child's Dead To The World ) an amazing song with really bombastic choirs and orchestra, White Night Fantasy - This is a non- album track, this song its something 100% different , Tarja's voice its very weird on this song, they wanted to do something different , they did , But the results of this song isnt actually the greatest thing...... Nemo ( Orchestra Version )- its the orchestra version of NEMO , I really liked it , but the normal rock version its definetly BETTER!!! and last , you get the Studio Footage video!!!!! Nightwish its definetly the best band out there!!!! Once again , dont read bad reviews , those guys just want to mess up everything and they dont know Nightwish...."
Nightwish: better than ever

"There seems to be no limits in Tuomas Holopainen's musical imagination. The first single of their new "Once" album, Nemo, is classic Nightwish - about a perfect rock song with all the power and beauty one can wish for. Fortunately, this in only beginning... The album is just as good, about as good as melodic hard rock/metal/music gets. If you liked "Nemo", be sure to buy "Once" as soon as you can. There are very few rock bands in the world who can rival Nightwish these days. It's beyond metal, gothic rock, or any genre. They do whatever they wish to, from acoustic indian ballads or Finnish folk tunes to deepest, toughest metal to rock your mind. And it works - shivers one's spine..."
