"Nightshade is one of the best "Speed-metal" bands that I have ever heard. I don't know if they would be classified as speed metal, but that is what they are to me. The Screeching vocals and lightning fast guitar riffs are amazing! I'm not just saying this because my Uncle is the lead guitarist either...these guys are for real. Tracks like "Dead of Night" "Surrender" and "Somebody's watching you" are among my all time favorites! These guys remind me of Blind Guardian a little bit, or maybe vice versa...they both have great melodies, great lyrics and a slight medieval/fantasy tint to their lyrics...I love Blind Guardian and many other metal bands, and if you like metal, get this CD any way you can!!!"

"This album isn't all THAT great, and I'm not saying that just because I once caught a glimpse of the second cousin of someone who once painted the house of a band member's dog's veterinarian's proctologist.
It's got some strong, catchy riffs here and there, but overall I sense no "spark" to really lift this out of mediocrity. There is nothing that really grabs you enough to make you want to listen to it repeatedly. The musicians are adequate, though not amazing, but the singer--if you want to call him that--needs to stop gargling glass."
