"well.. i must say it's about time this albium was released on cd. i remember when the mega smash hit "hot child in the city" was released in 1978 and what a impact it had on me at that time. and the rest of the album is just as great. there are several songs that could have been released as singles "got to get out" "she's one of the boys" just to name a few. if anybody from the emi record company reads this, please release "you know who you are" and "frequency" those are great albums also."
Minor classic worth discovering

"City Nights is one of those albums that kept me hanging on to my turntable; why would they ever re-release it? But finally it's out there as an import pressing. Like the Blondie and Pat Benetar LPs he also produced, Mike Chapman's work on this album assures you of non-stop tight catchy arrangements, and Gilder was certainly on a roll on this, his best album. It's listenable all the way through, and includes many highlights... in short, it's a solid record that not many people care about but offers nice pop/late period glam/rock thrills and is recommended."
