Relevant Discord, the debut album from Nick Depew and Dynamic Wind Records, is a work that invites the listener to participate in a self-exploratory journey through a flavorful variety of both traditional and non-traditional alternative/modern rock blends and styles. Musically, Relevant Discord offers hard-hitting, edgy tracks, like Blown Away, Irrepressible, and Restrained, then almost reverses course to invigorate the senses with tracks like Muse and Surface that reach near symphonic plateaus. All the while, Relevant Discord lyrically entices the listener to question, examine, and evaluate one's own true motivations, desires, and patterns. The encouragement to search for deeper and valid meanings is a very dominant theme that runs throughout the record.

Refreshing themes; cool music!

"This CD is full of tracks that have awesome messages carried by cool sounds. However, don't expect this to be one of those CDs that you just play in the background. The lyrics are almost meant to be studied and evaluated. This is really a record that you need to be prepared to think through. However, don't let that scare you away because there are many songs on the CD that are still awesome just from a musical viewpoint. This is especially true in the cases of "Muse" and "Surface," which have beautiful string sections interwoven with the general alternative guitar sound. The CD also offers heavier tracks like "Perspective," "Blown Away," and "Restrained" that still get your blood pumping. So, whether you like heavier, mellower, or intermediate alternative/modern rock with great lyrics, this record definitely has something to offer you."
