Synopsis

Album Details
Digitally Remastered Anthology of One of the Best Loved Groups Ever to Make it Big in France. Other Musicians Rarely Exuded Such Good Humour Or Gave Such Madcap Stage Performances. Building on their Punk Heritage, the Band Took the Advice of Jazz Great Cab Calloway to Heart: "Too Much is Never Enough" for an Artist. Their Pursuit of Greater Success Resulted in a Manic Adaptation of the Crazy, Unbridled Ambiance of the Greatest Circus Shows. Two of the Band's Founders, Mathias Canavese and Paulo, Had Actually Trained with the Zingaro Circus, While Vocalist Helno Sang with Les Berruriers Noirs. With their Distinctive Music and Lyrics, their Theatrical Liberties and the Quality of their Work, They Stood Out as Pioneers of an Innovative Kind of Expression that No Longer Sought Inspiration from the Other Side of the Atlantic. That's Why You Can Still Find So Many Clubbers Buzzing around the World's Hottest Nightspots who Answer to the Name of "Zobi"!

CD Reviews

Lunatic punk gypsy music

"This is just the cat's pajamas when I've come home from work, the events of the day are weighing heavy on me, and I need something boisterous and rebellious to lift my spirits. Plus it's all in a foreign language so the sad songs don't even make me sad. I heartily recommend this one."

""A l'affiche" provides a wonderful overview of this excellent band from France. If you don't have a CD by Les Negresses Vertes, this will get you hooked on their great cafe sound. Included are a few remixes and cuts from their most excellent "Acoustic Clubbing.""
