Nobody makes moonshine, works a cakewalk, chops wood or plays hard like Neal Pattman! Losing an arm at age nine didn't slow him down at all -- his testimony can be heard in a sound and a style his daddy taught him as a child.

CD Reviews

Neal Pattman is amazing
Jackie | Athens, GA. USA | 12/28/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Neal "Big Daddy" Pattman is absolutely amazing. The man blasts more soul out of his harp than anything you've ever heard. Although this CD can't compare with his live shows, it is still a *must-have* for the true blues collector. If you ever get the chance, GO SEE HIM LIVE. Yes, the 70-something Mr. Pattman still plays live shows pretty frequently in the Athens and Atlanta, Georgia area. He is *truly* a legend. "Momma Whoopin' Blues" is one of my favorites of this disc as well as his live performance - when he gets that one started there's not a still foot in the house! Another reason to see him live is to catch his hard-driving version of "John Henry" which is not presented here. And to top it all off, he is a very nice man - he signed the booklet to my CD for me at a show! If you love the blues, especially blues harp, then buy this CD - you won't be sorry!"
Down Home Blues
Brian R. Schroeder | Atlanta, Georgia United States | 11/14/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Neal Pattman epitomizes classic down home delta blues. From his wailing harmonica to his guttural singing, Neal brings us back to the likes of Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf with a masterful record. It is a must have for all blues fans."
