"Beachball was one of the biggest tunes of the late 90s and it was for a reason. It established Nalin & Kane as a dominant force in the progressive house/trance scene and was a big reason for much of the demand for their remixes in the late 90s (see Lustral - Everytime and Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar for solid proof of this). I would not debate the original (vocal and non-vocal) mixes are classics and take nothing away from the original work. The problem with this is obviously the nasty new vocal slapped on top. I don't even know why this abomination was created - an obvious lack of ideas would be the first thing that comes to mind. Yes adding a wispy new vocal will make it more commercial, but to slap a cheesy vocal on an absolute classic six years after it was originally released (and has since had a great deal of success) is disrespectful to the orignal track. If you're relatively new to dance music, I strongly suggest tracking down the original mixes on FFRR, Motor Music or Hooj. There's a reason people look at this tune with fond memories and since little was actually changed between the two tracks I'd go for the one that has more substance and will be regarded as a classic 5-10 years from now. This release is completely unnecessary. It just swaps one vocal for another one which is clearly inferior and leaves a sour taste in my mouth as a result. New Nalin & Kane material would be asking a lot, but it would definitely be more welcome than this."
To Have Vocals....Or Not To Have Vocals

"Let me start off by saying, I'm a big fan of Nalin & Kane's orignal "Beachball" track. With that being said, I like this new mix of that classic beat, but nothing beats the original. I was disappointed that this CD didn't have more "club" or "extended" mixes on it. The one club mix that was included on the CD (Steve Murano Club Mix"), outshined the two radio edits. As stated in another review on this site, the club mix was more progressive and the effects to the vocals of Alex Prince were very well done (I'm a sucker for smooth vocals over a good club beat). I would of rated this product higher if it had more mixes. Happy Clubbin!"
