CD Reviews

PHAT lounge
Nick Carter | Bronx, NY United States | 09/06/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Welcome to the world of the Phat lounge...where types like Filla Brasillia, Coldcut and, NAKED FUNK play. This album is excellent, not too fast, not exactly too slow, but just right to get you in the mood for an afterhours drink somewhere in a dimly lit, red hued, velvet lounge. The tunes are especially gratifying to listen to, looped music, soundbytes and samples swinging you into a rather settled down mood where a deep conversation can grab foothold. I find the female's Irish/Scottish accent just facinating to listen to in "Evolution Ending." One of my favorites. Buy this album. It's very good, and will swirl you into the right feeling to relax."
Good techno, bad name.
Hogarth Hughes | Rockwell, ME | 10/25/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"The name of this act is misleading. If you like your techno electronic and instrumental this is it. Very few vocals or samples appear, making room for some cool grooves not unlike CRYSTAL METHOD's VEGAS, albeit decidedly different. A nice, tight record that has some shining moments, but makes me wonder about the group's name. NAKED FUNK? Not a great name to present the material, however doesn't take anything away from some good techno."
Good sound, kinda similair to Crystal Method

"Definitely worth to buy, althought not all tracks are really good. Smooth slow breakbeat, liquid samples, for me sounds very similair to Crystal Method. Track 9 is a real pearl."
