Naked Ape is Olof Bendt, Jonas Mathiasson and Albion Venables. For the Sake of the Naked Ape is Naked Ape's second full-length album. In 2005, Naked Ape released A Naked EP in Scandinavia and today the band is on the verge of an international breakthrough with the video for the track "Fashion Freak" which has already caused a major stir around the electronic music world. This release features absolutely brilliant electro/clubbish dance-pop. They started out as a duo and got signed to the Swedish label Lobotom Records and opened for the biggest indie band in Sweden at that time: Bob Hund. Furthermore, their first release "Television" on the Make It Happen compilation All Songs Are Sad Songs (2002) was declared genius by the Swedish press. The third band member Olof Bendt joined around this time. The single "Slagen/Kommer Ner Igen" (2003) was released, creating a buzz around the band which was only magnified with their album debut, AnropaAporna in 2004. For the Sake of the Naked Ape is chock full of '80s analog synth sounds, Kraftwerkian sparseness, knock-knocking beats, lovely minimal melodies, and man-machine vocoder-buzz. Fashionably slick, sharp and irresistible on the dancefloor.
