A "must have" for your music collection

"If you were stranded on an island for the rest of your life, what music would you bring with you?
We have been listening to Ted Carr's recent CD entitled "Mystic Prophet Playing in Tongues" for 4 days at the time of this review. This is insightful music that stirs the soul. Carr's music meets the listener where they are in their life and creates an opportunity for peaceful reflection.
The music and poem "I Am" is one of our favorites. Carr offers a brief written narrative in the CD jacket that offers clarity and insight into what each of the songs mean. This insight grounds the song with the listener and helps to create connection to this beautiful music.
This CD is not simply solo piano. Carr does a great job of engaging the listener with percussion, horns, stings, and some woodwinds. The music is not overly repetitive, and has an upbeat, energetic, positive feel.
The vocals on the tune "Come to Me" are original, and pleasing to the ear. This CD will be a core part of my music collection. Carr is clearly a man of deep and abiding faith who brings his connection to the ethereal to his music. I strongly recommend adding this music to your collection and hope that you enjoy it as much as we have.
To answer the above mentioned question: "Mystic Prophet: Playing in Tongues" is number one on my list."
