"This is a very good album to use as a relaxation aid. I use it at work to help my stress level. Of course, if you don't like thunderstorms, then it's not for you. However, if you do like to listen to Mother Nature at her best, then you will love it."

One of the Most Romantic Albums I have Listened To

"This product looks banal enough. A bunch of old numbers from the 1950s-1970s. But the Mystic Moods orchestra has added a natural background that turns it into a romantic album (and now CD). The album is meant to be listened to in its entirety, as the backgrounds tell a story, of a night from dusk to dawn, in some place near the shore of the Eastern US (no, Carmel, California won't do. They don't have thunderstorms there). The night starts with a visit to the shore, then with the trotting of horses to a place in the country, where crickets are heard. A storm strikes, with loud claps of thunder, enhancing the romance. Near the end, the thunderstorm fades, and a distant steam locomotive train ends the story.



The songs chosen are interesting - two about summer, for instance. Strangers in the night is made mysterious by its occurence with the storm. The most dramatic piece has to be the haunting theme of "Invitation" with its loud thunderclaps and its cycling through all 12 keys. I could not find other references to "Daphne's Theme", but I still recognized the melody - Chopin's Prelude Opus 28 No. 4 in E Minor. It is also interesting how the Henry Mancini themes - Days of Wine and Roses and Moon River - bracket the storm.



A great album to play on a warm summer night."

"I am updating my LP's to CD's and have to have this series by the Mystic Moods Orchestra.



They take movie themes, love songs, and popular melodies, play them in a full orchestra setting and dub in parts of a freak four hour thunderstorm over Los Angeles. Brad Miller included various sounds of trains to enhance the audio experience.



Fine music, great effects with a real "Man and a Woman" quality.
