The 13th full length CD by My Dad is Dead is produced by Brian Paulson in Carrboro, NC and features 11 new songs steeped in the 25 year old MDID tradition of chunky guitars and biting lyrics. Long time band member Scott Pickering (drums) and newcomer Billy Buckley (bass) augment guitarist Mark Edwards uniquely personal songwriting which is again peppered with a dash of the political. My Dad is Dead has it s roots in the mid 80 s indie rock scene in Cleveland, when they and several other area bands signed with the Homestead label. The band s most recognized release during that decade The Taller You Are, the Shorter You Get garnered rave reviews and still is referenced by some as one of the best indie rock records of the late 80 s.
