""Das Love Boat" collects live instrumental recordings by famed underground band MX-80 made between 1975-1990. Guitarist Bruce Anderson was once rated by Guitar magazine one of the 10 greatest guitarists that no one has ever heard of, and this album shows why. His mastery of the instrument is clear on tracks like "Clown Sex" and "Hey Art", where he displays a technique reminiscent of John Mclaughlin--excellent work. Many of the songs are covers of tv theme songs, displaying the band's sense of humor. The only downside of the album is that the recording quality could be better--listen with headphones to fully enjoy the tight, crazy playing of this underrated band."

"MX-80 WERE ONE OF THE MORE UNDER-RATED BANDS OF THEIR ERA. BRUCE ANDERSON IS THE BEST GUITAR PLAYER YOU NEVER HEARD OF. FIRST FEW SONGS ON THIS ARE INCREDIBLE, THEN DRIFTS A BIT. COOL SOUNDING BAND."
