2009 collection of modern recordings of songs from this beloved musical. Starring Bonnie Langford and Edmund Hockridge. Based on the short story The Sobbin' Women, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers is a musical with music by Saul Chaplin and Gene De Paul and lyrics by Johnny Mercer. Originally made into a film in 1954 and starring Howard Keel and Jane Powell, the film was a major success despite MGM preferring to concentrate on Brigadoon, which was in production at the same time.
