Synopsis

Album Description
"[He] turns out to be a thoroughly musical soloist, his sweet-toned contribution at once unforced and affectionate." -- Gramophone "Carney plays with a poetic enchantment and bewitching dynamic range." -- The Strad Jonathan Carney takes the traditional role as both conductor and soloist as he leads the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in these timeless violin concertos by Mozart. The additional Adagio in E was the original slow movement for the Fifth Concerto, which violinist Gaetano Brunetti originally found too studied, but has found its way back into the standard string repertoire. Carney's delicate touch with the winds and graceful tempos provides a compelling interpretation of "the Mozart sound."
