Paris as her son unsuccessfully labored to win a post as Kappelmeister at the French court. Leopold Mozart openly blamed his son for her death, and it was a loss that profoundly impacted the 22 year old Mozart, which can be heard in the tempestuous sonata in A minor (k. 310), composed that during that tragic summer. The sonata in C major, which ends this recording, emerged a decade later in 1788, after Mozart had established himself as the greatest composer and pianist of the 18th century. This disc offers some very thoughtful interpretations of these Mozart pieces by Jeno Jando, who has also produced some of the best versions of Mozart's piano concertos available today."
