Synopsis

Album Description
"But who is Matthias Kirschnereit? On this evidence, he?s a Mozartian who can hold his own with anyone in the catalogue. Exemplary articulation, the subtlest melodic inflection, a wide but never self-indulgent tonal palette, a keen and elegant gift for characterization ? all are present and correct here, beautifully matched by orchestra and conductor." - BBC MUSIC Today, Matthias Kirschnereit counts among the most interesting and sought-after German pianists of his generation. Born in Westphalia, Kirschnereit grew up in the Namibian desert and began his intense piano studies at the Detmold Music Academy with Professor Renate Kretschmar-Fischer. Kirschnereit?s great successes at the German Music Competition in Bonn, the International Concours Géza Anda in Zurich and the Australian International Piano Competition in Sydney marked the beginning of his international concert career, which has since taken him to all five continents. Matthias Kirschnereit?s successful cooperation with Arte Nova is documented by the complete recording of all the piano concertos by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with the Bamberger Symphony under Frank Beermann.
