A bit of heaven on earth

"Fact #1: The Mozart *Clarinet Quintet* is a divinely beautiful piece of music which never fails to touch the depths of my heart. Fact #2: if you were to own only one recording of this magnificent piece, this particular recording would be a superb choice. The performance is intelligent & sensitive, bringing out the full beauty of the piece, and the sound quality of the recording is exquisite. The "Kegelstatt" trio is a wonderfully fun piece of music, and the "Adagio & Fugue" is the sombre side of Mozart at his very best. Even if the latter two pieces were mediocre (which they most certainly are not), I would ardently praise this album purely on the strength of the Clarinet Quintet. I would highly recommend this album for anyone who genuinely appreciates transcendentally beautiful experiences."
