CD Reviews

Different by any means....

"so, i loved the last album, dusty zeroes, dirty ones...so i am a little biased when it comes to this album, but i still like it. while the last album was a little more rock/folk, i would say this brings in more influences and to me is more "danceable", electronic. if u get a chance to see them live - do it! they r even better in person and can really bring a lot of energy to any bar."
So when they touring the East Coast?!

"I've been listening to Mtn Con since I took a chance on their Highpoint Project ep. They've always had a funky, jangly techno sound, while you were never really sure where their lyrics were headed...

With Sancho Panza, lyrics hold true to Mtn Con's indecypherability. No problem. However, its their change of tone that bothers me a bit. Their earlier Ones&Zeros disk ranged from the passionate Young & Weary anthem to the pointed, in-your-face Ultra Modern Man. However, Sancho Panza is a bit muted, and the tracks seem to blend together a bit.

Best tracks are Apocalyptic, House Party, and Nero. Although with a listen or two, other tracks weave their way into your head. Exception is November & Everything After. A little too random for me.
