Synopsis

Album Description
Although little-known to the general public today, Giovanni Morandi (1777-1856) was the most eminent composer for organ of his period (the Early Romantic era) in Italy. His works were widely published and played, and he wrote many works for use in two convents. Morandi's wife was the celebrated singer Rosa Morandi, and he often accompanied her on her travels. This rare recording of his organ duets shines welcome light on a corner of music history now in the shadows.
