Synopsis

Album Description
Live in the Moment. This is the theme that always comes up when the members of Moonraker talk about their songwriting and their live performances. With this self-titled CD release, this is not only Moonrakers moment, this is their time. Moonraker's members include a classically trained pianist, a self-taught bassist, a huge Muddy Waters fan, a chef, and a sonic healer. Their affinity for all things musical brought the together nearly four years ago. Those years found them performing alongside Joan Osborne, Lake Trout, The Slip, DJ Spooky, Ice T, Broken Social Scene, and the Disco Biscuits. From the ethereal "Shalom" to the inspiring message of "Modern Way" to the ambient rock edge of "Salimander" and "Courageous World", Moonraker's quintet of talent delivers a unique, coherent sound that offers something for everyone. A hybrid of trance, rock, electronica and jazz overtones, Moonraker have the spirit and soul to go all the way. Their mix of drum, bass, keyboard and guitar, accompanied by Scarr's memorable vocal phrasing & energy, is what makes Moonraker stand out in a crowded playing field. From the band's inception, their creative purpose was, and still is, to let the music form itself. At an average age of twenty-two, the still have many creative frontiers to explore. They observe and contribute, but ultimately the music takes its course. Moonraker let the music flow and ride the wave. Take the journey with them.

"This is a great CD. I have been a Moonraker fan for sometime, and this CD is finally able to take both the sultry mood of their old studio stuff, and combine it with the raw energy of the live show (go see them live). It is especially good to hear some of the older tunes with better sound quality (either re-recorded or just beefed up). Everyone sounds great, but what we really get here that we were missing on the previous studio stuff is the live feel of Dan's intense and always-on-point drumming...how the heck does he do it? I have played this CD for many, and it never disappoints!!! Buy it and enjoy!!!"
INCREDIBLE!

"I've been a Moonraker fan for some time, and nothing has come close to capturing the experience of seeing them perform live, but this album is almost as good! After Nada Brahma, this is my favorite CD. It plays over and over in my car...Kelli's vocals on "These Walls" are haunting, and "The Rescue" and "So Sweet" are absolutely incredible."
Surprisingly great cd

"I got this in the mail yesterday and have listened to it about 3 times through. This is my first Moonraker cd, and it was so worth the $$$$. With every listen, I am enjoying this cd more and more. It slightly reminds me of Esthero on some tracks. I listened to it while cleaning and found myself dancing and really loving this cd. It's going to be one of those favorites that is always in the player or in the car with me. The vocals are also excellent. I particularly liked The Rescue...it's got an incredible beat, really jazzy. I think any lover of good music, chill out to jazz and alternative and trip hop will enjoy this cd. I am looking forward to exploring more Moonraker, why didn't I know about them before?"
