Rockin' Kids Tunes!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Monty Harper's rocking tunes are a sure hit with youngsters! His melodic voice, fan club choir and fun musical arrangements make this CD a winner. Add that to the educational touch in all his songs. Being a bibliophile (a book lover) myself, this CD appealed greatly to me. Monty is a creative lyricist and his songs have plenty of room for kids to get wiggly, giggly and sing. Lyrics are included in the CD insert. The really cool feature of Take Me to Your Library is the enhanced CD part. You can get the lyrics with guitar chords (great for teachers and music instructors), notes on his song writing, 9 additional songs (mp3s), and even two videos. Wow! That's a lot of bang for your buck in one CD. My favorite song is the "Howdy Song" which teaches kids how to say hello in different languages. "Trick or Treat Smell My Feet" is one of Eliana's favorites. The title track, "Take Me to Your Library" has a fun, gibberish chorus that the aliens sing. Monty Harper is a children's music star on the rise.

"This CD is a hit at our house with the grownups as well as the kids. Sometimes, children's music tends to wear on my nerves after awhile, but with music reminisant of The Beach Boys, The Monkees and The Beatles, I don't mind listening to it over and over and over! The track "Tropeo the Pirate" is my sons favorite and the many layers of the song tell a vivid and colorful FUN story. Is Tropeo REALLY the Terror of the seas?
