Synopsis

Product Description
35 sonic spectacular albums from the early digital golden age when Decca s engineers brought digital recording and their proprietary Decca tree together to make a new DECCA SOUND.

A celebration of the nearly 25-year partnership between Dutoit and the OSM, when album after album enjoyed great reviews and sales.

Original Jackets in a lift-off lid, displaying a memorable era for Deccas artwork too.

The partnerships first Decca recording, Daphnis et Chloe (CD 1 of this set), captured the hearts of listeners around the world and the second recording, La Valse and Bolero (CD 2 of this set), became the first recording by a Canadian orchestra to go Platinum.

The venue for most of these recordings, Eglise St Eustache became one of Deccas most loved venues due to its acoustic.

This box coincides with Dutoits much anticipated return to Montreal after nearly 15 years. In February 2016 they will perform two concerts together the 3000 tickets sold out in a matter of hours.

2016 also marks the return of Decca recording in Montreal in their brand new Symphony hall with rare repertoire in a new association with Kent Nagano.
