Synopsis

Album Description
?Haste makes waste?, according to the old adage. And it's true of Montany, because the band whose roots stretch back to the late Eighties springs to new life again with New Born Day. Montany is that same Dutch melodic metal formation, who swore loyalty to a tempo-oriented, diversified style and who have counted amongst their country's top and most promising band for years. New Born Day sees the five musicians celebrating the entire spectrum spanning epic orchestration, grooving mid-tempo tracks and dizzying speed numbers in eleven great compositions. Songs such as ´Here In The Light`, ´World Of Dreams (The Evermore)` and ´Deep Water Rising` demonstrate the band's brilliant feeling for memorable melodies, lended with numerous brilliant solos, in which the two guitarists Dirk Hoek and Albert Houwaart prove themselves true masters of their craft. And in ´Back From The Sky` and ´Chains Of Glory` Montany show their passion for ultramodern, dark guitar riffs, a little reminscent of later Helloween works or of Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society). New Born Day was produced in the ´Black Solaris` Studios by Uwe Lulis. The former Grave Digger guitarist and primary songwriter who is currently looking to a successful future with his new band, Rebellion, helped New Born Day to its impressive, transparent and yet well-balanced sound. The core of the current Montany lineup is singer Patrick van Maurik. His high, clear voice gives the songs a fresh, timeless flair. And yet Van Maurik cleverly varies his style from high passages to lower levels. The rhythm section of the band is also in good hands: Stefan Brederode (bass) and John Brederode (drums) are a balanced team with excellent timing and who give the songs much of their energy and expression.
