Montana Taylor-forerunner of Rock and Roll

"If you listen to his 1946 recording of "Indiana Avenue Stomp"
you hear great rock and roll plain and simple; his recordings with Chippie Hill are dynamite. If you want to hear more somber blues listen to Montana's Blues and I can't Sleep. Cow Cow Davenport of Cow Cow Blues fame coaxed him to make the 1946 recordings. I sometimes consider this to be Davenport's
next great contribution to popular music after his original
Cow Cow Blues.European blues writers go nuts over this man, considering him to
be an undiscovered and grossly underrecorded artist.Perhaps, he will one day receive the recognition he deserves."
