Monica Metzler brings a living, breathing energy into everything she does. She plays guitar, piano, bass and percussion. An old soul in a young person. Nina Simone meets Ani DiFranco. Her unique voice, lyrics and sense of time come from that deep space in us. Some call it jazz. Monica began as a student of drummer/composer Dave Storrs. Storrs has worked tirelessly putting out his, and others, music the past the twenty five years. Oceanic was a year long project between the two. Together with another ex-student Nick Rivard (bass,guitar, percussion) they eventually formed The Timbral Hut after years of working on music in Storrs garage/studio. The group plays the song in front of them regardless of any particular style. Making it up on the spot and performing Monica's songs. This unique combination of young and old people helps propel the music.
