Ultimate Country-Rock

"I strongly recommend this CD (or any of the band's others)!!! Any fan of country music--and quite a few classic-rock fans, too-- ought to love this band; with lead singer Molly Sheer's sassy, powerhouse vocals, tight group harmonies, flawless musicianship & catchy, melodic songs.. this is music that's certainly more authentically Country than anything on country radio these days, yet at the same time truly rocks...

A combination of several terrific covers (compare "Big Love" to k.d. lang's version) and some fine original material... the band's likeable, energetic and utterly professional sound comes across on every song, and has remained consistent through several later CDS, even as they broadened their musical boundaries (the later "Lucky Flame" is fine, accessible alt-country)

Molly & The Heymakers are the real thing, and the fact that they never found major national success is utterly inexplicable, and country music's loss. These guys fit right in somewhere between the likes of Rodney Crowell, Roseanne Cash, Kim Richey, Patty Loveless, Highway 101, Charlie Daniels, the Kentucky Headhunters, Confederate Railroad and 38 Special... and they're far more musically satisfying than any of today's nondescript, over-produced "hot new country" acts. Get this CD!"
