CD Reviews

This group is a real "sleeper"

"I saw these guys numerious times in the mid-60's. "Killer" act in-person..great showmen The thing that stood out then and stands out in this CD is the writing/arranging of Holvay/Beisbier. They, unfortunately, gave some of their best work to the Buckinghams...Don't You Care, Susan, etc. This CD really does justice to what they sounded like in-person. For my money, "I Dig Everything About You" is one of those "lost gems" that should have charted...great hook and fabulous changes. What a great "find"!"
A very difficult CD to find by a great band out of Chicago.

"I hunted this thing down after researching The Buckinghams and the identity of the writers on their timeless hits, Don't you Care, Kind of a Drag, Susan and Hey Baby, They're Playin our Song. I'll tell you who they are...James Holvay and Gary Beisbier. And they wrote just about every tune on this CD. I think these cats are about the best writers I've heard in a very, very long time. Just check out the changes. Where do they come up with these ideas? I havent even received this CD yet...have just listened to the sound bites. I was extremely excited to find some more tunes penned by these two individuals. It seems as if these two guys have disappeared, because I could find very little on the web on these two individuals. I would have fully imagined that they would be still writing...since they sure seemed to grind out a multitude of tunes effortlessly. Whatever happened to these guys anyway? Next thing I want to get is the Private Stock LP. Does anybody know if a CD exists on this LP?"
Knew them and loved them!

"Music by the MOB is simply the best of it's time, you needed to see them in person! Great . . . .

I had my own show group The Sounds of Joy during this time frame. We worked with the MOB many times at the Sahara Tahoe Hotel. This was a band of real musicians . . . class guys.Really miss those days. Never really got their shot !
