Born to a single parent home in a rough East Baltimore neighborhood, M.O. (AKA Eric 'Buzz' Watkins) could have gone down the wrong road. With friends dying and going to jail around him, he knew he had to do something to escape the grim reality that surrounded him. A knack for rhyming came naturally, allowing him to compete with others in the rap game. Local critics and peers in the Baltimore scene instantly compared his style to rap legends Scarface and Pimp C, and he was quickly propelled into the forefront of the up'n'coming rough Baltimore rap scene that spawned artists such as Sisqo, Bossman, Tim Trees, DMX, Comp, B-Rich, and others who signed deals with major labels. Unlike his local contemporaries, M.O. chose to remain independent, following in the path of influences like Russell Simmons, Master P, and P-Diddy, who rose from poverty to become music entrepreneurs.
