Synopsis

Album Description
Miriam A da, well-known jazz singer and lead singer in "A Bossa Eletrica" releases "Meu Brasil"; an acoustic adventure in the Brazilian, earthbound music tradition. This record is recorded with both Swedish and Brazilian musicians and reflects a global unity comingfrom the mutual passion for the Brazilian music treasure vaults. Three of Brazils most hired and respected musicians: Oscar Bol o - percussion, Jayme Vignoli - cavaquinho, Marcilio Lopes - bandolim. Guest soloists Fredrik Kronkvist (A Bossa Eletrica) on flutes and saxophones and M ns Mernsten (A Bossa Eletrica, DAMN!) on piano. The sound varies from just vocals and guitar to a full scale samba orchestra with percussion, cavaquinho and bandolim. -

(4 out of 5 stars)

"First of all I have to come clean and admit that this is by no means my favorite type of music. However, Miriam Aida has won me over with her amazing vocal skills and even though I have no idea what she is singing about it sure sounds beautifull. Therefore I can not really rate the lyrics since she sings a language for which I am not proficient at and there is not a translation which is a pity. The book-let is a mixed bag with almost no infortmation in it but the awesome photographs save this from being mediocre. On the whole I would recommend this to people that like jazz or like me want to try something different this is a good album to listen to."
