CD Reviews

Well, I was the bass player on this record ....

"I appreciate the kind comments of the previous reviewer, "theprisoner666". However, he is incorrect in describing this record as a reissue of our "1000 Micrograms" EP. "Moxies Revenge" derives from entirely form two Miracle Workers practice sessions recorded on a Tascam 4 track cassete recorder. As such, it is a good representation of what we sounded like live ca. 1984. All these years later it is my favourite amongst our records. The recordings used for the "1000 Micrograms" EP were done on a good quality 4 track half inch reel to reel deck. The reviewer also mentions "Greg Moxie". He is confusing two people. Greg Kostelich is the owner of Get Hip Records, which is the label this record is released on. Moxie Records was a label run by the late Dave Gibson of Springfield, Oregon, (he was the guy who issued the 'Boulders' series). Several of the songs on "Moxies Revenge" were from our first record, a 7" EP on Moxie Records. "1000 Micrograms" was released by the Sounds Interesting label in 1984. Chip Lamey ran the label. Don't know what he's doing now, but hope he is doing well.Joel"
Great Garage Sounds

"I saw the original Miracle Workers several times back in 1984/85. This record is an excellent document of what they sounded like then. Includes some of their great originals as well as their cover versions of garage classics like "Blue Girl" and "Psycho". This disc shows off their early style. Into the late '80s, as their lineup changed, they became much more Stooges-influenced and left a lot of the "psychedelic garage" trappings behind."
I was a member of the band

"Caveat: I was the bass player in this band at the time of the recording.

Recordings are ca. 1982-1983 and are mostly from good quality 4 track cassette recordings from practice sessions. For this release the recordings were taken to a professional studio and cleaned up.

The sound quality is good and is an accurate representation of what we sounded like live at the time. I like this record."
