A band that care about music first? Amazing!

"I stumbled across these guys hidden in the world wide web, and became enthralled by an album that shifts seamlessly from hard rock to folk, and to disco and ultimately jazz, all the while somehow never leaving that central core of style that says "this is us... it's who we are."
I'm a big supporter of independent albums, and as much as I almost hate to admit it, they usually sound, well, like an "independent album," lacking that certain polish that you get from a band with a major label $$$ backing. Not MSJ! This cd holds its own when played back to back with any album in my collection. The recording quality and musicianship really shine here, nothing is muddy or hidden in the mix. The drums and bass really lock in, giving a solid foundation, while the layers of guitars find their space flawlessly, allowing the vocals to cut through loud and clear, delivering a message of heartache and bitterness masterfully told with a poetic flare.
The multiple genre shifts of MSJ take me back to my first experiences with Led Zepplin's "III." You're given 17 tracks here, and each one leaves you with the impression that the artists gave us their vision of the music, not a watered down list of songs catered to radio and commercial success, both of which Minnesota Sex Junkies deserve in spades."
Best money spent in quite a while!

"I received this album in the mail today and I have to honestly say that I love it! This is the first album from anyone that I have purchased in a long time that I absolutely LOVE almost every song. There is not even one song that I don't like to some degree. I believe that there is at least something on this album for everyone, and most will love everything on it! It is, without question, well worth every penny and more! I give it 5 stars, as this is the best purchase I've made in a while and I am thrilled with it! :o)"

"Honestly this CD is glorious! :-) It displays so much depth and heart within every line... every verse... I would honestly recommond this CD to anyone out there... it's not just one of those CD's where you have one or two good tracks and then the rest are just minor tracks trying to fill up a CD to make it try to sound appealing that way they can make a profit off of something they really honestly don't care anything about....in which I've seen in alot of CD's that I've purchased over the years, but these guys really showed something with the release of MSJ... so much character and life in only just 17 tracks... and also a very good variety as well... not one song will leave you disappointed, this I can say without a doubt. :-D That's why I would rate MSJ five stars because it's that freakin awesome, especially after you do the car test!!!!"
