The word "ultimate" is subjective, but this is nice, indeed.

"I'm always leary of words like "ultimate" in a title. Ask 100 classical music lovers what their ultimate romance album might be and you'll get 100 different answers, and even if they all agreed on the same selections, there are 100 different recordings by 100 different orchestras and conductors.

I note that Amazon does not (yet) include a track listing. That would help. Go to iClassics.com or iTunes if you want to see the track listings and hear samples, or even make your own romance album. So, why this album? First, it's on Decca, so the recording quality speaks for itself. They have an extensive enough library from which to pick some excellent pieces. And the choices certainly do help define a romantic mood. You really can't go wrong with this even if you would've picked 16 different pieces. You will have to supply your own candlelight and wine, though."
