Pianist and composer Mike Strickland s latest CD, Have Yourself a Jazzy Little Christmas, is garnering quite a bit of attention this holiday season. The long-time Seattle musician s 20th album is the featured CD at Tully s Coffee retail stores, and the track I Love the Winter Weather is included on the current Christmas in the Northwest compilation which benefits Children's Hospitals. Strickland s version of Deck The Halls is also featured in the hit movie, This Christmas, which is currently number two at the box office. The soundtrack has been getting rave reviews, including one from Roger Ebert, who reports, But what the audiences will enjoy most is the music. The soundtrack is alive. Have Yourself a Jazzy Little Christmas features award-winning jazz singer Greta Matassa on seven tracks; bassist Clipper Anderson on all tracks, including three on which he sings, as well; and vocalist Terry Lauber on a Strickland original, Yuletide Dance. It also features Strickland s vocal debut on If I Only Had a Brain.
