Synopsis
Amazon.com Celtic themes have bubbled away in Oldfield's work as far back as Hergest Ridge in '74. On this all-instrumental effort, his guitar is bolstered by pipes, orchestra, and choir on a mixed bag of lackluster, repetitive material (the lone exception being a lovely "She Moves Through the Fair"). --Jeff Bateman Similar CDs

CD ReviewsNot Your Momma's Celtic Michael Hayes Music | Nashville | 11/25/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "Voyager is not your momma's Celtic. When the Celtic rage first took the music scene by storm it was refreshing. However, within a very short time Celtic music started to get old real fast as an over abundance of the style flooded the music scene and it all started sounding the same. Oldfield provides tastefully outstanding arrangements of the traditional music chosen for this project. Voyager is one of Oldfield' best. I found it refreshing and completely different from all the other Celtic albums."
