Danny Thompson, double bass Mike Lindup was one of the founder members of Level 42 and part of the phenomenon that enabled them to sell over 15 million albums worldwide. Conversations with Silence is the album both he and his fans have always wanted him to make, consisting of all his own compositions for Grand Piano. The music is a combination of styles ranging from classical to film music toLatin jazz and also features Bosco D'Oliveira on percussion, Andy Lafone, and Danny Thompson on double bass. Conversations with Silence is a wonderful showcase for Mike's talents as a composer and a wonderful pianist. His intense relationship with the piano is apparent throughout as the mood changes from reflective to passionate to peaceful. The inspiration for this album originally came from requests he had to record an album on the piano; Mike says: "The piano is my home instrument, and having decided to make this album, I wanted this music to come from the heart, to reflect my love for diversity, composition and the Grand."
